I was really impressed with the different colors they used to render the Batphone, steering wheel, and some of the various levers in the main console of the car, which I kind of wish extended to other parts of the vehicle. This is awful packaging and it should be outlawed by the Hague Convention on the Just and Humane Treatment of Toys. Neither are slam dunks in terms of likeness, but I see a lot more of Burt Ward in Robin than I do Adam West in Batman. That having been said, mine came from a reputable online retailer and it arrived clean and unscathed. We will introduce you exclusively to Newpay finance products provided by NewDay Limited under this Introducer Appointed Representative arrangement.

Of the three figures available, Joker has the best likeness of his onscreen counterpart, as this is a pretty spot-on Cesar Romero look.As with Robin, there is the standard version of the character as well as a chase variant, but in this case the unmasked version is the more common figure as opposed to the much more rare masked variant. Mattel’s 66 Batman line combined these familiar comic visuals with the figure stands and that was a good idea, but it’s not like McFarlane could have copied that.

That may have been because the more acrobatic Boy Wonder lends himself to inspiration easier than the more stoic Caped Crusader, but I had some fun getting some good shots out of Robin. The cowl has the drawn-on eyebrows and nose, along with the two-tone separation of the face from the rest of the mask.Bubble wrap is still used for fragile items and some preowned toys but the majority of our parcels use brown kraft paper. The Batpoles are the only disappointment in the entire set, as they really don’t have any way to remain stable and aren’t strong enough to support any of the figures. The sculpt here is pretty nice, and like Mattel’s it is a big plastic shell rolling on wheels, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There is absolutely no question that the Batmobile in general is the coolest car ever created, and George Barris’ iconic and incredibly memorable take for the Sixties television series is perhaps the most beloved of the lot. Knowing what I was getting going in, I’m not at all sorry I picked it up, but if you do already own the Mattel version, you may want to give this one a pass!

and I appreciate what they were going for here, but I would have rather had figure stands or actual accessories like batarangs, bat grapple hooks, etc.I have so much McFarlane stuff to look at, it’s really going to have to become a semi-weekly thing next year. When he awoke, McElroy believed himself to be the legendary King Tutankhamun reincarnated, and Gotham City the ancient city of Thebes.

I already dipped into the Retro 66 Batman pool a short while ago with a look at Boxing Batman and Riddler, but today I’m going to go back to basics by checking out the Dynamic Duo and their bitchin ride. His costume just looks so damn on point with some wonderful sculpting flares like the tops of his boots and the fasteners running down the center of his tunic. Honestly, the scaling here is actually a little better than what we saw with MEGO’s toys, but that’s still a pretty flimsy excuse to make an under-sized Batmobile.Just snip the plastic ties holding it in place and you’re ready to race to Gotham City (14 miles) in this has-to-be-to-scale whip that’s over a foot long from stem to stern. This means they won’t snap or break easily, which is great considering how thin and delicate they are, but that also makes them pretty easy to warp. I dig these figures a lot and there’s a lot of give and take if I’m comparing them to the older Mattel line. The atomic pile is the main focal point of the set– as it should be, because it is both huge and awesome– with the rocks of the cave making up the rest of the segmented backdrop. That’s a common comment with most of the McFarlane figures I’ve seen, though, but the accessories that are included with Batman are pretty genius: two attachable “sound effects.
